The Mountlake Terrace and Brier Chamber of Commerce is an organization run and operated by local business owners and operators. We are an all-volunteer organization dedicated to helping local businesses and our surrounding communities.


Goals
Strengthen a sense of community in MLT and Brier by providing an outlet for networking to grow, improve, and promote business member's companies within the organization.

Meet The Board



Justin Nygard
President
Born and raised in Stanwood, Washington, Justin attended UW Bothell and received a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies. He then moved to Nanjing, China, Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies Graduate Certificate Program of Chinese and American Studies. He later completed a Master's in Business Administration from Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School. He moved back and is using his education to help run his family business in Mountlake Terrace, Double DD Meats, when he is not busy leading a nearby Zumba class.
Josh Gill
Vice President
Originally from central California and later raised in small town Blaine Washington, Dr. Gill has full embraced the northwest lifestyle. After graduating with his bachelor degree in Biology from Western Washington University, he later completed his Doctor of Optometry at Pacific University. He likes to spend his time outside of clinical care hiking in the PNW, golfing, and spending time with friends and family. Dr. Gill is now caring for patients outside of our Mountlake Terrace location.
Anne Penny
Secretary
Anne Penny has been with Edmonds College since 2001. She is the director of the Career Action Center at the College. The Center helps students find jobs and internships, engages with business to support hiring and create on-ramps for their workforce.
Anne has her M.Ed. from University of North Carolina - Greensboro. Anne and her family moved to south Snohomish county from California in 2000 when they moved into Mountlake Terrace. Currently, Anne is located in Mill Creek but really misses her south county neighborhoods.



Brady Blake
Treasurer
Brady Blake is an attorney and the founder of Sound Legal Solutions PLLC. He was born and raised in the Greater Seattle Area and enjoys being outdoors with his family exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Brady earned his degree in business administration from the University of Washington before attending Seattle University School of Law. He graduated with his Juris Doctorate and is license to practice law in Washington State. He is focused on helping people with issues relating to estate planning, probate, personal injury, and real estate.
Jeanette Davelaar
Board Member
Jeanette has been in the banking industry more than 25 years, starting her banking career as a teller, and subsequently serving in many roles in branch banking including Personal Banker, Operations Manager, Consumer Loan Officer and VP Relationship Branch Manager. Jeanette’s personal satisfaction comes from cultivating relationships, spending time with family, and making a difference by volunteering in various organizations. Whether you are in the market of purchasing your dream home, purchasing a vehicle, saving for a rainy day, or planning for retirement, she welcomes the opportunity to be your trusted advisor.
Maria Ellis
Board Member
Maria was born and raised a true Washingtonian. She owns Espresso Break Coffee Stand off of Mountlake Terrace's 56th Street. She served on the board of the original Mountlake Terrace Business Association and helped transform the group into a chamber of commerce. She has organized the local Trunk R Treat and assisted raising funds for neighborhood needs like National Night Out, and Backpack for Little Hawks. Although she lives in Marysville, Mountlake Terrace is her real home.

Jon DeBoo
Board Member At-Large
Jon DeBoo grew up in Brier, but spent a few years in Central Washington, earning a health coaching certification from Institute for Integrated Nutrition and working on the board of the Moses Lake Farmer's Market. His passion for healthy living inspired him to start his snack company, Muunch Muunch LLC. He moved back to Western Washington in 2021 where, in addition to expanding Muunch Muunch, he is the Vice President of the Snohomish Farmer's Market. His free time is spent visiting Farmer's markets, enjoying time in the outdoors, and giving back to the community he grew up in.
Leadership Positions are elected to a one-year term by the board. At-Large Board members are volunteer positions- the organization is always looking to bring more members onto the board. Interested in becoming a board member? Let one of us know!
